Loilin Township Hluttaw Representative Khun Thet Naing, NATALA District Officer Inspect Flood-Damaged Bridge for Repairs

Loilin Township State Hluttaw Representative Khun Thet Naing, together with U Zaw Zaw Tun, District Officer of the Ministry of Border Affairs (NATALA), and other officials inspected a bridge left tilted by flooding during the 2024 monsoon season, to assess its reconstruction.
The inspection took place on May 20, 2026. The bridge, self-built by villages in the southern part of Sahaung village tract and villages within Nayan village tract, Loilin Township, was damaged by the flooding. Officials studied in detail the extent of the damage, resulting travel difficulties, and what repair and reconstruction would require.
Residents from 20 villages reported that the bridge’s damage has made travel between villages precarious, causing difficulty for students, patients and the transport of goods.
Officials said they would compile the necessary budget estimates, construction design and technical assessments, and submit them to the relevant departments.
Hluttaw representatives said the bridge is a vital route for local residents and repairs are needed as soon as possible, and that they would cooperate with the relevant departments. They said they would draw up a plan to complete the bridge repair within a set timeframe, and continue working to secure funding approval from the NATALA development fund or relevant budget programs.
The inspection was attended by Loilin Township State Hluttaw Representative Khun Thet Naing, Ministry of Border Affairs (NATALA) District Officer U Zaw Zaw Tun, security forces personnel, local administrative bodies, and village community representatives.
