U.S.-Bangladesh Joint Military Exercise ‘Tiger Lightning’ Concludes in the Jungle

The U.S.-Bangladesh joint military exercise Tiger Lightning 2026 began in Bangladesh on July 19 and concluded on July 30. Soldiers from U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC) and the Oregon Army National Guard took part in the opening ceremony alongside Bangladesh’s 1st Para Commando Brigade.
Tiger Lightning is an annual exercise held as part of USARPAC’s regional security cooperation program, aimed at strengthening professional ties and interoperability between U.S. and Bangladeshi forces.
The exercise included jungle warfare techniques, counterterrorism, medical evacuation, explosive ordnance disposal, weapons qualification, tracking, and counter-drone detection training, concluding with a jungle field training exercise (FTX).
