State Hluttaw Representative Khun Thet Naing Greets Farmers at Seed, Fertilizer and Farm Equipment Handover for 2026-2027 Growing Season

At an event held at the Pinlon Agriculture Department in Loilin District, southern Shan State, to hand out seed, fertilizer and farm equipment for the 2026-2027 growing season aimed at raising farmers’ crop yields, Loilin Township State Hluttaw Representative Khun Thet Naing delivered greeting remarks.

The event opened at 9 a.m., with Loilin District Administration Committee Chairman U Kyi Myint giving opening remarks.

State Hluttaw Representative Khun Thet Naing then addressed the farmers in attendance, saying that since Myanmar relies heavily on agriculture, farmers should apply technology-based farming methods to produce higher-quality crops.

Agriculture Department District Officer U Myo Min Tun then explained the purpose and benefits of distributing the seed, fertilizer and farm equipment, and gave guidance on 12 basic farming techniques, correct seeding rates, cropping systems, applying fertilizer in the right proportions and at the right times, and — rather than burning leftover crop residue after each harvest — reusing it through the Bokashi Compost method to improve soil quality and protect the environment.

The District Administration Committee Chairman, the State Hluttaw representative, the Agriculture Department District Officer and other officials then handed out annual crop seeds, fertilizer and farm equipment to farmers.

Finally, the Agriculture Department also provided a grant to a group of coffee growers led by Khun Yan Naing who will attend a coffee training course at the Hay Ho Pure Seed Farm.

After the event, the Hluttaw representative, District Administration Committee members and departmental officials visited local farms to review conditions and coordinate what is needed to boost agricultural production.
