Shan State Chief Minister Meets MSME Business Owners to Discuss Business Needs

A discussion meeting between Shan State Chief Minister U Sai Htein Zaw and micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) business owners, organized by the Shan State Government, was held at 9 a.m. today, July 18, at the Taunggyi City Hall.
Chief Minister U Sai Htein Zaw gave opening remarks, saying MSMEs are essential for regional economic development, job creation and boosting domestic production, and urged business owners to openly raise the difficulties and needs they face.
U Myint Oo of Unique Lawksawk Mango Co., Ltd., U Lin Aung of the Shan South Rice Mill Association, U Khun Myo Myint Oo of the Shan South Young Entrepreneurs Association, U Aung Than Kyaw of the Hay Ho Potato Association, U Khun Hsan Oo of the Naung Tayar Potato Association, U Tin Win Htike of “Shan Thu Gyi” food products, and U Khun Myo Nyunt of “Naung Khan” Coffee then each presented the difficulties, needs and suggestions they face in running their businesses.
Officials from the State Police Force, the State Planning, Economy and Finance Minister, the State Land Records Department, Myanma Economic Bank, the State Consumer Affairs Department, the State Industrial Supervision and Inspection Department, the State Youth Affairs Department, the State General Administration Department, and the State Agriculture Department responded to the business owners’ concerns in their respective sectors.
Chief Minister U Sai Htein Zaw then reviewed the business owners’ concerns and instructed relevant departments to coordinate and provide what is needed in accordance with the law, and urged government and private-sector cooperation to further develop MSMEs.
The meeting concluded with Chief Minister U Sai Htein Zaw and State Government ministers warmly greeting the MSME business owners in attendance.
