Shan State Chief Minister’s Cup Under-23 Township Takraw Tournament Awards Presented

An awards ceremony for the Shan State Government’s Chief Minister’s Cup Under-23 Township Takraw (cane-ball) Tournament was held at 3 p.m. on July 10 at the Training Sports Hall in Taunggyi.

The ceremony was attended by the Shan State Chief Minister and Shan State Government ministers, the State High Court Chief Justice, the Shan State Police Force Commander, the Shan State Auditor-General, ethnic affairs ministers, officials, athletes and invited guests.

At the ceremony, Ma Ei Thu Kyaw of the Taunggyi Township team received the Best Player of the Women’s Tournament award, along with a medal and a cash prize of 100,000 kyats. Shan State Government ministers also presented medals and cash prizes for Best Spike, Best Server and Best Feeder in the men’s tournament.

In the women’s event, Taunggyi Township took first place, Linkhe Township second, and Ywar Ngan and Yatsauk townships tied for third. In the men’s three-player event, Lashio Township won first place, Linkhe Township second, and Kalaw and Taunggyi townships tied for third.


In the men’s four-player event, Linkhe Township won first place, Lashio Township second, and Pinlaung Township took joint third.

The Shan State Chief Minister then presented trophies and cash prizes to the first-place teams in the women’s, men’s three-player and men’s four-player events, and the ceremony concluded successfully with a group photo of the award-winning teams.
