Pa-O Self-Administered Zone Leading Body Chairman and Hluttaw Representatives Meet Public in Pinlaung Township

May 5, 2026. Pa-O Self-Administered Zone Leading Body Chairman U Khun Phoe Sein, together with Hluttaw representatives, held a meeting with local officials and residents at 1 p.m. at Myat Thein Tan monastic school in Yinhmwe ward, Pinlaung Township, Pa-O Self-Administered Zone, southern Shan State.
The event opened with a Dhamma talk from the Myat Thein Tan monastic school abbot, followed by taking refuge and the Five Precepts, saluting the national flag, and singing the national anthem.
Pinlaung Township PNO Chairman Dr. Soe Moe Kyaw then gave opening remarks, saying the Leading Body Chairman and Hluttaw representatives’ delegation intended to meet directly with residents so they could raise local needs, and explaining the importance of every citizen’s vote and upcoming changes in governance.
Leading Body Chairman U Khun Phoe Sein then shared his experiences with the Hluttaw and local administration, saying education and the economy would be the main priorities over the next five years, and that residents could raise development needs such as health, social affairs, roads and bridges.
Pyithu Hluttaw Representative Nan Yi Yi Win (also known as Nan Lone Khan), Amyotha Hluttaw Representative Khun Htaing, and State Hluttaw Representative Khun Win Naung also shared their Hluttaw experiences and stressed the importance of cooperating with the public.
At the meeting, residents raised needs specific to their area, and there was a two-way discussion on the feasibility and timeframes for implementing some of them.
PNO member Maw Khun Saw Htee then delivered a vote of thanks, and the meeting concluded successfully at 5 p.m. More than 250 people attended, including the Leading Body Chairman, Hluttaw representatives and local residents.
