PNO Secretary-General U Khun Thein Hpay and Hluttaw Representatives Meet Residents of Alaungdawpauk Area on the Pinlaung-Kalaw-Yaksawk Border

Pa-O National Organization (PNO) Secretary-General U Khun Thein Hpay, together with State Hluttaw representatives and officials, met with residents of the Alaungdawpauk area on the Pinlaung-Kalaw-Yaksawk border on July 24, at the monastery in Alaungdawpauk village, Nannaing village tract, Kalaw Township, southern Shan State.

The meeting opened with the recitation of homage three times, followed by the taking of the Five Precepts and a Dhamma talk from the Alaungdawpauk abbot. U Khun Htun Min, an official from Nannaing village tract, then delivered opening remarks.

At the event, PNO Secretary-General U Khun Thein Hpay said it was necessary to live peacefully together with fellow ethnic peoples residing in Pa-O areas and to work with unity for regional development.
He also stressed the need to place special emphasis on promoting education for young people for the sake of regional development, saying development projects could be carried out more effectively if educated young people came forward to lead them.
He called for basic needs in the area, including roads, bridges, drinking water, electricity, health care and other public welfare projects, to be addressed step by step in coordination with the relevant Hluttaw representatives.

Kalaw Township State Hluttaw Representative U Khun Htun Ngae and Pinlaung Township State Hluttaw Representative U Khun Win Naung then spoke about the work being carried out in the Hluttaw, how residents’ needs are being raised and addressed through the Hluttaw, and shared their experiences as representatives.

Pa-O National Army (PNA) Central Information and Public Relations Officer Major Khun Hsan Aung then explained the differences between traditional media and social media, and shared educational information about online slot games.

At the close of the event, PNO Central Committee member Khun Htaik Khan delivered words of thanks and closing remarks.

The meeting was attended by PNO Secretary-General U Khun Thein Hpay, State Hluttaw representatives from Kalaw and Pinlaung townships, PNA Central Information and Public Relations Officer Major Khun Hsan Aung and media team officials, and residents from 15 villages within Nannaing village tract.
