Shan State MSME One Stop Service Center Opening Ceremony Held

The opening ceremony of the Shan State Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development Agency’s One Stop Service Center (OSS Center) was held at 9 a.m. on July 20 at the former Shan State Government ministers’ office building in Taunggyi.

At the ceremony, U Khun Than Htoo, Chairman of the Shan State MSME Agency and State Minister for Electricity, Energy, Industry and Transport, sprinkled scented water to unveil the office signboard and delivered opening remarks.

In his remarks, Minister U Khun Than Htoo said the OSS Center was being opened so that MSMEs in Shan State could develop, and so business owners could access business information, needed guidance and services in one place, saving time.

The Department of Industrial Supervision and Inspection will take primary responsibility for the OSS Center, with relevant departments cooperating to provide MSME business owners with business start-up information, licensing and permit matters, and advisory services on loans, legal matters and standards.

The Shan State MSME Agency Chairman then presented temporary registration certificates to MSME business owners and toured the One Stop Service counters being operated by the various departments.

The minister added that the Shan State government would support MSME needs to the fullest extent possible, urged business owners to use the OSS Center’s services to grow their businesses, and called for departments and business owners to work together to support Shan State’s economic development and help it become a modern, developed state.

The ceremony was attended by the State Minister for Planning, Economy and Finance, the State Government Secretary, members of the Shan State MSME Agency, state-level departmental officials and MSME business owners; officials and guests departed after the ceremony concluded.
