Real Madrid Sign Yan Diomande for €140 Million

Real Madrid, managed by José Mourinho, have signed Ivorian winger Yan Diomande from German club RB Leipzig for a club-record €140 million (about $161 million). The fee comprises a €125 million base price, plus €10 million in easily achievable bonuses and €5 million in more difficult-to-reach bonuses. He has signed a seven-year contract with Real Madrid running until June 30, 2033.
Diomande moved to RB Leipzig from Spanish club Leganés in 2025, and in a single season scored 12 goals and provided 8 assists, earning him the Bundesliga season’s youngest breakout player award. Real Madrid beat out Paris Saint-Germain (who withdrew over the price) and Liverpool (whose June bid was rejected) to sign the player.
This season, Real Madrid have also signed Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konaté and Marc Cucurella, cementing their position as the biggest spender of this summer’s transfer window.
